Strategi som Dialog
Cover design for a book by Kristian Norling
When Kristian Norling wrote Strategy as Dialogue, the book needed a visual expression that reflects its core idea: that strategy is not a document, but a living, ongoing dialogue.

The cover is built on a deliberately restrained, almost institutional aesthetic, with a warm, neutral base and a clear typographic structure. It establishes credibility in a public sector context, while avoiding an overworked or overly “sales-driven” look.
The graphic concept is grounded in actual dialogue. The thin lines on the cover are based on sound waves from conversations in the author’s podcast on strategy, a way of literally letting dialogue take form in the design, while introducing a subtle, living element that breaks the otherwise structured surface.

The typography is designed to carry the content rather than decorate it. The title is given clear prominence, while supporting elements are placed with precision to reinforce a sense of structure, clarity, and academic relevance.
The result is a cover that doesn’t just describe strategy, it is shaped by the same principle the book advocates.
